Alleged audio on 'arrogant' Guan Eng exposed

An audio recording has surfaced of a closed-door PKR meeting in Penang where Deputy Chief Minister I Mansor Othman had reportedly described his boss Lim Guan Eng as 'cocky and arrogant'.

The recording of the meeting held on March 19 was featured on TV3 prime-time news last night.
Mansor was clearly heard using the words angkuh (cocky) andsombong (arrogant), as well as describing Lim as a tokong (deity) to the Chinese community.

PKR leaders were quick to dismiss it as a "manipulation" and a "BN strategy" to create conflict between the two leaders.

On Aug 23, Malaysiakini had revealed the leaked minutes of the meeting, but Mansor had denied calling Lim 'cocky and arrogant', saying that his comments had been blown out of proportion.

The state PKR chief however admitted describing Lim as a "deity" as he is often revered by Penangites.
"Words such as ‘cocky', ‘arrogant' and ‘deity' were taken out of context to give a bad image of the relations between PKR and DAP," Mansor had claimed at a joint press conference with Lim a day after the expose.

No disciplinary action yet

PKR has been investigating the matter and zoomed in on four suspects although the party leadership has yet to announce any action against them for leaking the private discussion.

According to a source, the quartet which included a state assemblyperson, a Penang municipal councillor and two others were found most likely to be connected the leak.

The source, however, declined to divulge whether all the suspects were present at the meeting, which eight party members had attended.
NONE"It is possible that the suspect or suspects had recorded the session and shared it with people who did not attend the meeting, or even those outside PKR," said the source.

It is learnt that those who leaked the minutes, and now the audio recording, could be adversely affected by the seat allocation in the upcoming 13th general election.

Aside from the name-calling, the minutes exposed the current state of affairs in PKR and its sometimes testy relationship with its partner DAP when it comes to seat negotiations.

The polls could be called soon as the current term expires in April next year, but Prime Minister Najib Razak has not ruled out holding it later this year.

BN on the attack

As the parliamentary sitting began yesterday, the Bagan MP is in Kuala Lumpur but an executive councillors' meeting is to be held in Penang tomorrow.

NONEIt is not confirmed if Lim will attend this meeting.
Mansor is scheduled to hand over compensation aid to those affected by the development of the Jelutong Express (Lebuhraya Tun Lim Chong Eu) in Komtar today.

Following the TV broadcast, opponents of Pakatan Rakyat have begun ridiculing Lim and Mansor, with Kedah Gerakan Youth chief Tan Keng Liang lambasting the opposition for "blaming BN" over the affair.

"But was it BN who thought LGE [Lim Guan Eng] behave that way? Got to ask @limkitsiang," said Tan, in his tweet last night.

"Mansor said he label @cmlimguaneng as 'tokong' as a matter respect but now expose by TV3 (tape record) that he said LGE cocky/arrogant #kantoi," he added.
Mansor: Investigations are ongoing
When asked to comment today, Mansor said that “elections are around (the corner)”.

He denied that he had viewed the TV programme, adding that he was attending a meeting in KL.

When asked regarding disciplinary action against the suspects, Mansor said, “Investigations are ongoing and action would be taken.”

He added that the suspects were among those who attended the meeting.

He later approached Malaysiakini and asked, “Who gave you the video?”
