Malaysian Barbarians at the Gate: Politicians must set the example - be CIVILIZED!

M'sian Barbarians at the Gate: Politicians must set the example - be CIVILIZED!
As the political drumbeats get more intense for the mother-of-all-elections, the GE13, politicians are literally getting wilder these days. What a disgraceful shame to the nation's name and the citizens' grace.
Politicians need to be told in no uncertain terms that ether they learn to shape up or better shut up for the good of this nation.
So far, if you read the news papers, or hear the radio or watch television – you cannot help not noticing the over-board bragging of “Janji Detepati”.You also cannot help not learning that the BN politicians will not spare any stones to pelt if not crack-up their opponents.
Likewise, you also cannot help noticing that the BN politicians and their patronizing parasites will not hesitate to condemn those citizens who appear to be saying or standing up for the issues and principles that so happens to be the ones that the Opposition team is also championing.
The use of threats, fear drumming, and even brute force – all of these are the weaponry of the loud-mouthed politicians who have no shame in using dirty, political war-tactics.
The Pakatan Rakyat too should know better
Now, on the other side of the divide are the Opposition politicians. Some of them just do not know what it means when they go to the alternate media to peddle their disagreements, differences of opinions and even attempting to prove themselves more righteous than their fellow teammates.
Don't these fools not know that going to the polls is not a lone-hero or heroin act. It is teamwork, stupid.
Shouting all kinds of allegations at your enemy is not good enough. Showing proof is also only half the battle won. Going the distance with effective and decisive action brought against the crooks alone guarantees that you can be given a chance to lead.
And politicians need to be reminded that politics is not about demanding that the citizens should vote you. You must remember that this is the prerogative of the voter. No one has even an iota of right to take or snatch if you will, that right out of the citizens’ bosom.
So stop your shouting, threatening and slime slinging matches. Get down on your knees if need to for your transgressions and beg for a second chance. That way and through subsequent public sympathy you may end up with a second chance.
Shut up if you are incapable of speaking convincingly. Shut up for good if only near barbaric and crude war cries spew from your mouth.
Double standards & fear-mongering won't work
Politicians need to be told that in any campaigning, voters judge you for your merits of leadership. People do not get swayed by your ‘like hell had known no fury’ charging at your opponents and their supporters.
Malaysians are no more locked and living in the 1960s please. Today even the most remote villager touts a hand phone. City folks do not go back to their remote kampongs only once a year. The radio, television and newspaper are not the only medium of communication.
Any amount of glossing over with your seeming public relations smokescreens, spins and dolled-up propaganda is not going to prevent the peeling away of your gross misconducts and abuses, come voting day.
Neither is fear-mongering and brandishing of brute force going to help build the future Malaysia. Politics is all about governance. And if have no idea what governance (good governance) is all about, go read the UN charter.
Please allow logic, fair-mindedness, arms-length dealings and above all goodwill to be the determinants of the day. It is these values that will make Malaysia a nation of people tomorrow.
Setting up brother against brother, sister against sister, people against people is not the preferred politics of a nation that seems bent on achieving developed status. In short stop your barbaric tactics politicians!
Set the example by being civilized
We are not talking about idealism here. What the nation deserves is that politicians set the example by being civilized.
So if politicians from all quarters cannot shape up their act with noble, caring, concerned and uncorrupted deeds, you be forewarned. And if they cannot speak with sensible, sincere and goodwill-guided thoughts and feelings, they better shut up for good. Otherwise, the voters will deliver the lethal dose to such errant politicians come voting day this GE-13.
Remember, the rakyat are no fools. You think just because they come to your ceramas or political dos you have got them log, stock and barrel in your hunting bag? Sorry Mr and Miss politician, where have you been all these while?
It is about time that all caring citizens and noble leaders of civil society and even leaders of the various faiths as well as our revered royalties told our nasty politicians from all sides of the divide to either shape up or shut up and get out of the way.
Let us get serious about the business of building Malaysia and not let nasty politicians continue abusing Malaysians in their craze to build personal wealth, personal power and family fortunes.
