From this coming year those who will be performing their Hajj will be able to use a new Metro train service to the Holy Land. This Metro train will ferry passengers to and from the important places which pilgrims must visit at the Holy Land in Mecca.
With the introduction of this Metro train service, pilgrims do not have to board buses while the traffic congestion will be a thing of the past.
Saudi government had undertaken this metro train service after experiencing bus congestion and fatal accidents which had taken many lives during the Hajj period.
The rate for this Metro service is as follows:
7 days fare: USD 67.00
4 days fare: USD 27.00
The total cost of this project is USD1.8 billion. The project will be ready next month and the expected capacity is 170,000 passengers. With the complete completion of this project it will be able to accommodate a capacity of 3 million passengers.
