Taib gives Najib huge endorsement

Losing BN's continuity in ruling will be a big loss to the nation, says Sarawak CM.

SIBU: Losing the continuity of a good government run by the Barisan Nasional (BN) will be a big loss to the nation as the coalition has run the country very well for more than 50 years.

In observing this, Sarawak Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud said Malaysia should not be governed by inexperienced people as it would only lead to a path of destruction.

“No political newcomer can produce miracles and say, they can perform even better,” he said at the ground-breaking for Sarawak’s latest university, Sarawak University College of Technology, by Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak at Old Airport Road here today.

“The Barisan Nasional…they have quality leaders and people who can transform the country.

“Najib, he knows too, the needs and aspiration of the state very well, as he has been a very regular visitor, either to its urban or rural centres, since leading the federal government, three years ago,” noted Abdul Taib.

As such, he said, Sarawakians should once again rally behind his government to allow the state, on the verge of modernising itself, achieve these aspirations successfully.

Later, speaking at a Hari Raya gathering organised by the Nangka state constituency at the Masjid An-Nur, which was also attended by the prime minister, Abdul Taib said:

“It is the big struggle of the people to defend the BN government which has the committment and history of bringing development and progress to the state.”

He said the struggle would soon get more complicated each day, but the BN would be equal to the task as its leadership had shown it had the capacity and ability to similarly improve, as well.

“Let us all give our biggest mandate to Najib to lead the government again in the coming 13th general election.

“Let us come out in full force to vote for his government and his leadership and reject those who merely want to make a lot of promises,” added the chief minister.
